Artwork Submissions 

Artwork Submissions  (PC based only):

We accept electronic art files on 3.5?floppy disk, 100MB Zip disk, CD, DVD or through email at sales@samsign.com. Please create your files in one of the formats listed below:

VECTORIZED FILE TYPES - STRONGLY PREFERRED:
Vector files are directly compatible with our software
(thus no additional charges beyond the standard $35 set-up fee for artwork or setup). Please be sure that all text and images are converted to outlines.

.eps - A common vectorized file type that works well with several different programs.

.ai - An Adobe Illustrator file. We accept versions up to Adobe CS3.

.cdr - A CorelDraw file. We accept versions up to CorelDraw x4.

RASTER FILE TYPES - ACCEPTABLE:
Raster files are useful for full color graphics or as a guidelines for us to create your sign or artwork
(there maybe additional charges beyond the standard $35 set-up fee).

.tiff - This file is a raster image (scanned) and contains no points or lines. Please save at 250dpi or better when using for full color graphics.

.psd - Adobe Photoshop file. This file is a raster image (scanned) and contains no points or lines. Please save at 250dpi or better when using for full color graphics.

.jpg - This file is a raster image (scanned) and contains no points or lines. Please save at 250dpi or better when using for full color graphics. Lesser quality is acceptable when using merely as an example.

.pdf - Adobe Acrobat file.

FORMATS FOR VIEWING ONLY:

.bmp -This file is a raster image used for on-screen viewing and is not recommended.

.gif - This file is a raster image used for on-screen viewing and is not recommended.

.doc - Microsoft Word file. Acceptable for example or text only.

FORMATS NOT ACCEPTED:

.pub ?This is a Microsoft Publisher format is not acceptable. If you have publisher, you can 'save as' a preferable format such as a .jpg.

QUARK - Quark files are not acceptable.

MACINTOSH PLATFORM USERS:

At present, we are a PC only shop. Please do what you can to convert your file to a PC friendly format with the above guidelines in mind.

COLORS:

All of the colors on your sign need to match our standard in–house colors or a Pantone spot color.  Additional charges will apply for color matching.

GUIDELINES:

The ‘SUBJECT?line of your message should read: ARTWORK SUBMISSION / “Your Company Name?/ “sales representative’s name (optional)?

In the body of the message please include your contact information and any instructions concerning your artwork that would help our art department with your design.

If your sign is not submitted at full size, please indicate what the finished size should be.

Multiple files should be attached and sent in the same message. We currently have a 10 MB file size limit on incoming artwork, so be sure your combined files sizes do not exceed this maximum.

If a proof is required upon completion of your design, it will be faxed or emailed to you for approval.

When placing a sign order with us, your initial sign design (proof) is provided for a $35 charge. Each additional sketch and revision is provided at no cost. However, we may charge additional fees for designs requiring extensive work by our designers.

Photography Specifications For Color Photo Signs

When emailing an electronic photo file (PC-platform only):

-          We accept electronic photo files on 3.5?floppy disk, 100MB Zip disk, CD-ROM, or through email at sales@samsign.com.

-          The ‘SUBJECT?line of your message should read: Photo Submission / “Your Name?/ “sales representative’s name (optional)?

-          Your photo should be scanned as near reproduction size as possible (at least 5”x7? at 300 pixels per inch resolution or better.

-          E-mailed photos should be at or near reproduction size and have a resolution of at least 300 pixels per inch.

-          Acceptable file formats for photos are .jpg, Photoshop (.psd) and .tiff

When mailing a photograph:

-          Provide a high quality 4”x5?or 5”x7?color photograph on professional grade paper. We cannot accept photos printed on a desktop printer.

-          Please do not paper clip your photo. Secure it in an envelope with cardboard or a file folder cut to fit the photo.

Additional Information:

-          Use contrasting colors in your photo. For example: dark clothes/light background or vice versa.

-          Photos taken with softening filters may appear out of focus or fuzzy. Please make sure the photo you submit is sharp and clear. We are electronically reproducing and enlarging the photo that you submit.

-          Slight color variations may occur when transferring your color photo to our digital imaging process.

Production Time
Stock items that do not require custom information added to them, ship within 1-2 working days (except when stock items are backordered). Our standard
production time is 5-10 business days once all artwork has been received and approved.

Shipment
All orders are shipped F.O.B. via Fedex ground service.
  Next Day Air and 2nd Day Air is available at an extra charge (all Hawaii and Alaska orders must be Next Day or 2nd Day Air only). For residential deliveries there is a surcharge. Please advise us at the time of your order if you have any special delivery instructions.

Returns and Adjustments
All returns and adjustments must be requested within 30 days of receipt of invoice. Shipping is non-refundable.
Re-stocking fees may apply to certain items.
